defeating world #7 Lindsay Davenport in the first round of 1996
Philadelphia en route to a quarterfinal finish; world ranking moved
up to a then-career high No. 54; win over Davenport was second win
over a Top 10 player in 1996
- Broke into the Top 50 for the first time at No. 48 in March of
1997
- Ranked No. 83, earned first win over a Top 10 player by ousting
eigth-ranked Kimik Date in first round of 1996 Stasbourg and went on
